Dr. William O. Manning 80, peacefully passed away February 22, 2007, while writing his acceptance letter to the Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, OK. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bettie and his children, Steve, Linda, Patrick (Buck) and Tom; grandchildren, Carl, Chelsea, Anna, Blake, Kristyn and Jake; daughters-in-law, Janell, Sue and Lynn. His 36-year career as a respected teacher, wrestling coach, drivers education instructor, athletic director, principal and school board member in the Wayzata Minnesota School District led him to his distinguishable and passionate work in the field of family counseling and chemical-dependency intervention. He and his wife moved to Tucson in 1989, where he continued his dedication to families through his work with Charter Hospital, Parent's Anonymous, Casa da Vita, The Federal Prison, and La Frontera. He was also fondly recognized as the neighborhood Santa Claus, and his boisterous voice that always offered a positive and comforting "Hello". A memorial and a celebration of his life will be held at the Santa Catalina Catholic Church on Thursday, March 1st, at 10:30 a.m. Charitable donations will be accepted for Casa de la Luz Hospice and the Santa Catalina Catholic Church. Everyday Bill, Dad and Grandpa lived by, "How you feel about yourself today, is what life is all about."
